We built the pen around the assumption that it would be used for hours at a time, which is why it's made of metal rather than a lighter plastic shell. That sounds like it should work against you (why would a heavier pen be easier to write with?), but a well-balanced metal pen does some of the work for you: its own weight presses the nib or tip to the page, so you're pushing less and guiding more.
